Guramishvili first obtained a FIDE rating through the International Chess Federation (FIDE) in October 2002, starting at 2142 at the age of eleven.

In mid-2003, she became FIDE Women’s Master (WFM). That year, she finished on the podium in the women’s under-12 division at the European Junior, and World Junior Chess Championships.
